That's the region(s) from whence your ancient ancestors came. America I think especially, adopts our ancestry away. As an adopted person, I have taken great offense to my ethnicity being decided for me. "Don't call me white, don't automatically check that box based on what your eyes see! I don't even know what I am, so how dare you tell me; my, ethnicities. What's white anyway, I'm not a fucking color crayon!"????oh, I got madd tangent on this topic right here...lol
Anyway...in part, how my DNA story goes is as follows. Blood type B, originated in or near the Himalayas. They traveled down breaking off to Russia, China, India, and Africa. Air-go...How I became to have the ancestral traces that I do.
Now if ancestry dot com and like would take into equal account Maternal DNA, we'd be on to something!
