It seems that nothing gave promising results of what I've tried until now. It seems that even though we layed off watering, all the treatments we applied included water in the composition...this being said, most certainly they are suffering from root rot. Please give me a quick advice on how I can succesfuly save them. Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) from what I read seems to treat this without having to take them out of the soil and clean them, therefore exposing them to shock because of medium change. I'm becoming quite desperate here less

Just took a chance today and added one more liter of water with vinegar to the soil. This time I also fitted the PH tester while adding the vinegar(showing 7.6) and poured 250ml of the compound and voila. It has dropped quite significantly. This won't last for too long though as far as I heard (hopefully enough for the plants to get their nutes). However I'm heading to an auto shop later to get some battery acid (sulfuric acid) that is said to be the base chemical in PH down and noticed that many growers use it with success, being more stable than the actual PH down or the vinegar. Will keep you posted on this. less

My friend is having some growing problems. As you can see from the below image he sent to me few days ago, the bottom leaves started turning yellow (they are still soft and seems like there's life running through them, obviously not dead..yet). He's growing them in a small grow room (max 4 plants) with a 600W LED light, tomato ferts rich in N, P and K, ventilated with intake, circulation and outtake fans. He also mentioned that the PH in the soil rose from 7 to 7.6 (which I believe is the problem). He took my advice and searched the internet for some home-made PH down and came across the vinegar solution (1 table spoon/gallon of water light poured over the soil each day for a week to rise the acidity). Do you guys have any other thoughts ? Mentioning this is week 4 in a 18 hour light / 6 hour darkness schedule. Any help would be much appreciated ! Peace ! less

Thank you, glad to be part of the family ! Oh, so it can be over nuting (there the PH increase too). Okay, will let him know. Oh, and the soil is actually coco with clay pebbles

He's a first time grower , so i believe this is how you learn Anyways, I think those leaves will eventually die. Advised him to lay off watering until the moisture sensor indicates a quarter of its total value or until the soil is almost dry and also cut back on the nutrients. He was using them once a week, advised him to cut them back until plant recovers as the soil most certainly has enough nutes that the plant can't absorb due to the nitrogen toxicity. Will ask my friend for updates from time to time and will post the progress here. Thanks a lot for the help, peace ! less

Okay, so decided to go full throttle starting next week and got the following :
HESI PowerZyme 500 ml
BioBizz Bio-Grow 500 ml
BioBizz Bio-Bloom 500 ml
Corrector Canna pH- Pro 38%, 1 L

I just moved the intake fan down to the base of the plants so I can't say if it will be a change in it's behavior or not. Also water was cut back as well as the strong nutes. Cropmax is just a supplement containing small amounts of everything the plant needs to develop and It's used by spraying on the leaves. less

I am using a market nute Vitality Komplex with natural enzymes (Said to be the best for tomatoes) with NPK - 1.5 : 0.8 : 1.3 . (Reckon that's not enough NPK ?)
Mirinda
Ashamed to admit it but we're beginners in this. And also afraid to talk to anyone else to ask for any advice. That's why I came here. Yes this and Cropmax sprayed on the leaves is all we got now. Guessing we're missing some things

Tried the vinegar but that didn't show any sign at all after 3 days of use. I used 1 tablespoon of vinegar to 1L of tap water that rested for at least 48 hours, then watered the soil with it. Used 1L per the 4 pots. I can order a PH Down from the website, but in about 1 week as we are broke at the moment. So if you happen to know any other home-made remedy to lower the PH at least until we can buy the regulator, that'll be awesome. less

Measured the tap water i have stored for over 4 days to water the plants and the PH is a straight 7.00. So odds are against me trying to find water in the right PH range. Will also lookup a you tube tutorial on how to flush the right way but gotta find the right water or bring it in the right PH range. We're so afraid not to lose the babies.

Thought to give the vinegar another try today so I added 2.5 tablespoons of vinegar to the deposited tap water. Measured PH in the bottle and it dropped to about 6.5. Used 1 liter today to water the 4 pots (abt. 250ml/pot) and measured the PH in the soil earlier and it seems to have dropped from 7.8 to 7.5. Now I don't wanna overwater the plants trying to drop the PH with vinegar so am afraid to add another 250ml again tomorrow as the soil is pretty moist for now. I will get the distilled water as that is cheap indeed. The PH down is about $13, so I will need to get that in about 6 days when I get my salary (hope it won't be too late).
Thanks a lot for all your help. I will continue to post on the progress and effects. Have an awesome day ! less

Here is a ''chunk'' of the thread on 420 Magazine :
''I used vinegar once I realized i needed to lower my ph because of nutrient lock-out issues.
I used about 1-2 tbsp vin. / gal water to bring the ph from 7.8 to about 6.5''
He doesn't mention the time it took and how many times he had to use this remedy, but in another piece of the same thread a guy mentions :
''i use vinegar to lower my ph its actually been more stable then ph down, if i need to raise it i just add tap water.''
So I believe that he uses distilled water with added vinegar (same amount each time)for every watering and uses tap water just if the PH rises again. less

I posted a problem of my friend's plants about a week ago (bottom leaves getting yellow and brown rust-like spots appearing on leaves and multiplying and extending). I helped him trim all yellow and spotted leaves and sprayed some Cropmax (thinking it's a deficiency like Mg or P) then added some diluted vinegar to the soil for about 2-3 days to raise acidity a little as the PH range is 7.6-7.8 (that didn't work at all). Also added an extra fan but mounted it at the top of the establishment so clean air can get in easily. I figured they were still not getting enough air circulation so i moved the fan from the top down to the base of the plant so the air outside is blown through the leaves, while on the opposite side is the outtake fan with the carbon filter. Here is a pic my friend sent me of 2 leaves trimmed today. Is that rust fungus ? (result to bad air circulation). Please help us save these girls less
Mr.Stone1161
Have you tried an anti fungus spray. Don't know what nutrients you are using but yellowing of the leaves usually means lack of nitrogen. Tho some yellowing is natural in last stages of flowering before harvest.
With luck someone can confirm my thoughts
