Part 1
Medical cannabis will be available for sale in Australia in a matter of weeks, after the Federal Government approved plans to let domestic companies sell the products.
Health Minister Greg Hunt announced on Wednesday that the Government would allow certain companies in Australia to import medical cannabis from overseas, and sell it to patients who have been prescribed the product by their doctor. Currently patients can access medical cannabis from overseas sources, but Hunt said access was on a case-by-case basis and required patients to wait many weeks for the drug to arrive.
The new scheme allows companies to import bulk loads of medical cannabis and sell directly to those who need it, meaning patients no longer have to wait for their own product to arrive. Australia is currently growing its own crops of cannabis for medical use -- just yesterday the Victorian government announced its first harvest had been completed -- but it will not be ready for some time. less

As I was 3hrs from home I begged off having some there and then. It's supposedly Skunk#1. He went on holidays to Bali not long after it started flowering and so to keep his plants from getting stolen, he put them in his shed and hoped for the best, they died of course. So despite this he harvested what he could and has given me a little bag, 2-3grams, to try out.
Nasty, nasty, nasty I don't think I have ever coughed so much.
I should have thought of it before smoking it...
He didn't get to flush did he!
First toke, not even a second into it and BAM!! Chicken claws scratching my throat out. It's now the next day and I've got a headache, I NEVER get headaches.
He's just texted me this morning wanting to know what I thought. He's so excited about it "Get's ya pretty f'ing ripped eh?" To quote him.
I am now torn between trying to focus on the positives and encouragement....or just being honest and tell him that I don't intend to even try smoking any more of it, it was hands down the harshest, nastiest weed I've smoked in as long as I can remember.
How do you politely tell someone that their precious little 1st grow...is f'ing horrible! less

He's only 23, but I've known him since he was a little kid, because we're also friends with his parents. So it's a bit of a new, weird dynamic, as up until a couple of months ago, we hadn't seen him since he was all of 16/17ish and to us, he was still just Alex&Gino's boy.
Anyhow... I bit the bullet and told him what I thought. Swear to god, I thought he was going to f'ing cry at one point. No joke.
This time I'd brought some of my own 'white widow' along and we did a little comparison test.
Not only could we both smoke a bowl twice as large without coughing, but I showed him how the ash from mine was completely white, whereas his was mostly grey, with darker flecks throughout. Explained what this meant, etc..
Long story short, we're all good, but I get the feeling he's going to be pedantic as F! with his next grow.
Which is good, I wouldn't want to see anyone smoking weed with as much fertilizers and pesticides as his... less

Ohio's recent "legalization" of medical marijuana is by far the most pathetic I've seen thus far. Ohio's House Bill 523 (which was passed on May 26), only legalizes non-smokeable marijuana. And, when it comes to drug tests at work, medical marijuana patients have no protection. They can be fired for violating a "drug-free workplace policy" if marijuana is found in their systems during a drug screening (which also would make them ineligible for unemployment benefits).
Hypothetically, as an approved medical marijuana patient in Ohio, I can take a medication that can drastically help my condition and then lose my job, or I can go on suffering and keep my job and therefore be able to support my family. See how House Bill 523 doesn't actually legalize anything?
Lawmakers estimate it will take anywhere between two months and two years to set up and implement all the asinine rules associated with this bill. Think about alcohol for a minute. It's completely legal to buy as much of it as you want. If you drink too much, it can cause liver damage, addiction, even death. According to the CDC, in 2014 alone, more Americans died from alcohol-induced causes (30,722) than from overdoses of prescription painkillers and heroin combined (28,647). So, there were more alcohol related deaths in 2014 than heroin related deaths (and we keep hearing that there's a national heroin epidemic in this country), yet I am not limited to the amount of alcohol I can purchase.
If it's such a deadly substance, then shouldn't it be regulated more? Could you imagine if the government did such a thing? Let's limit the amount of beer to a six-pack per person per day and see how much rioting there'd be in the streets! Look, if a substance is legal to purchase, then I should be allowed to purchase as much of it as I so desire. To me, that's the definition of a legal substance.

"If I can buy as many cigarettes as I want, then why, in a state like Colorado where marijuana is legal, can I not empty my bank account in a retail marijuana shop if that’s what I want to do?"
Today, there are a couple dozen states (+D.C.) that have legalized medical marijuana in some way. Ohio just joined that list last month. And on election day (which is Tuesday, Nov. 8), medical marijuana and recreational marijuana will be on the ballot in several states. However, even if your state has legalized medical and recreational marijuana, there are still huge restrictions on every aspect of "legalization."
Take Colorado for instance. If you're a Colorado resident, you can buy up to 1 ounce of marijuana at one time, but if you're visiting from another state, you can only purchase up to ¼ ounce at a time. Name one other legal substance that is regulated in this manner. If I can buy as many cigarettes as I want, then why, in a state like Colorado where marijuana is legal, can I not empty my bank account in a retail marijuana shop if that's what I want to do?

For instance, as Americans, we can buy and consume as much alcohol as we want, we can smoke as many cigarettes as we want, and we can eat as much fast food as we want. As an American citizen, you have the right to literally drink, smoke, and eat yourself to death, but when it comes to consuming marijuana, that’s off the table, even though it is impossible to die from smoking pot to excess.
Here’s the way I see cannabis legalization: Every person on the planet should be allowed the freedom to use his or her judgment when it comes to what’s best for his or her life and well-being, as long as it doesn’t infringe on anyone else’s rights. If you want to go into cardiac arrest from eating five Big Macs three times a day, then that’s your prerogative. If you want to use marijuana to alleviate a migraine headache, be my guest.

So when the media reported that Ohio legalized marijuana, that means Ohio residents won't actually be able to get medical marijuana cards or legally ingest it until possibly two years from now!
I'd like to know what lawmakers are so afraid of when it comes to actually legalizing marijuana. What are the side effects of this medication? Patients feel better. It helps people manage chronic pain without addiction or death. We just lost Prince, one of the greatest musical icons of my home state of Minnesota, due to prescription pill overdose. If his doctor prescribed him marijuana, I believe he would still be with us today. And as a "recreational" substance, name me one person who smokes weed and then wakes up the next day not remembering committing violent or aggressive acts, which is so typically associated with alcohol use.
I'm a purist. If a substance is legal, it should be legal. Yes, let's tax it, let's make money off of it, but let's not regulate it to the point where people live in fear of having too much of this "legal" substance on them at a given moment. When people buy cigarettes, they don't worry if they have too many packs in the trunk of their car, yet there is not one medical benefit of smoking cigarettes. It's common knowledge that cigarettes slowly kill you. So addictive substances that kill people: perfectly legal. A medical substance that has proven time and time again to have practically zero side effects and can actually help people: not fully legalized, and many Americans risk going to jail if they use it.
On Election Day, I'm voting for people who will actually legalize this incredible plant. We don't know what's in our future or what's in our children's futures. Our loved ones could be diagnosed with cancer, Huntington's, ALS, epilepsy, glaucoma, Crohn's disease, PTSD, Parkinson's, fibromyalgia or any number of illnesses that cannabis treats. It's in all of our best interests to make cannabis legal for every American. less
-1c at 0845, it was down to -3c when I left for work this morning and outside with the windchill factor... lets just say my nuts were hiding up by my tonsils to keep warm
So, I've been invited to compete in Cali in August.
Only because someone else dropped out though, to be honest.
The temptation to try some whilst there and or try and bring something home would just be to strong I think
Greatsouthern (OFM)Greywolf6969 (OFM) you see, I only just started smoking again last year, after 15+ yrs of abstaining. So in less than a year my casual habit has become somewhat of an all consuming passion, that's what really hit me with this. That my first and foremost thought was of gaining access to all the amazing things you have at dispenseries in Cali. I don't think I could stop myself from going into some, trying things like pre-made edibles or dabs, etc..
And I would need to if I actually was wanting to compete seriously. I just was really struck by how my priorities have changed in less than a year.

I've been hitting my little pipe for the last couple of months and today I decided to dust off the old bong which actually uses the exact same cone piece from my pipe.
So even though I am having the exact same size cone, with the exact same weed....one rip of the bong and POW! A rushing high came over me, a really intense rush that I just hadn't been getting from my pipe.
Something about the method of intake, the speed of consumption, amount of air taken in during, etc... really seems to alter the overall high I get.
Anyone else feel this also? less

I generally smoke out of my bong when at home, use my pipe occasionally but yes, bong hits work much better for me lol I so rarely smoke a joint but when I do its almost as good as bong hit, but I enjoy the flavor of the herb much more with a joint.

Greatsouthern (OFM)Not so much that bongs are better.... just different. For me, I get much more of a rush before I settle into it. I think I am probably just as ripped, same weed, same size cone, etc.

But the initial rush from the bong makes it feel more intense at first. Going to rotate my smoking implements more frequently I think, keep my high on it's toes, so to speak.

Hooo!!! Jank3d (OFM) nailed it
It is indeed a weed based card game. I've had this since the 90's. I was sure someone out there had to know of it.

Dude! Didn't they send you the secret info yet? It is probably on the way. You need your official wristband to decode the message and instructions.
My thoughts and prayers are with Manchester tonight.
I don't know how anyone could target a concert full of mostly teenage girls. Sick twisted people. I don't care what you think the U.S.A or Britain have or haven't done in your home country,... moreMy thoughts and prayers are with Manchester tonight.
I don't know how anyone could target a concert full of mostly teenage girls. Sick twisted people. I don't care what you think the U.S.A or Britain have or haven't done in your home country, deliberately targeting innocent children is sick. Nothing anyone could say would ever convince me otherwise. less

I think I'm gonna cry! This is awful news! I met him a couple times back in the early 90's. .....I'm gonna go home and smoke a bowl and listen to soundgarden the rest of the day

I know from experience that my bodies tolerance levels couldn't handle these 30% + strains. I would be asleep in 20min if I tried smoking these less

If I had ridiculous amounts of weed like those of you in legal states, etc, I would just scoop it out with my index finger and then squish it into a ball. But seeming as this is a rare occasion for me, I want to save as much of it as I can, hence not wanting to handle it with my bare hands if I can avoid it.

I don't know what those are sorry, something to do with joints I'm assuming. Try to pretend like I come from a country where when you say 'raw wraps' , people assume your talking about your lunch
