Description
This Is Joan
Joan was arrested in 1961 for protesting segregation. She spent two months on death row at Parchman Prison in the state of Mississippi because she refused to pay bail for an illegal arrest. There she was forced to be mentally evaluated because authorities couldn't understand why a white teenage girl from Virginia would involve herself in the Civil Rights Movement. She had more courage in her little finger than the 44 Republican Senators currently serving in Congress. She never stopped fighting to Make America Great.
